The Great Work Lead into gold. Worthless into priceless. False fire into a mortal soul. This is the quest of every Promethean, but many roads lead to Mortality. Over the centuries, the Refinements have changed, new ones have been discovered and old ones lost, and secrets too terrible for the mundane world have been buried and covered in lies. The Created cannot afford to let these hoary legends go, however — not when one such legend might lead to completion of the Magnum Opus A chronicle ... Read more »

Magnum Opus is the latest and second to last supplement in the Promethean: the Created series. The signature character who this book focuses around is the Ulgan, Zo Malak. For some reason I fell that she is one of the Promethean signature characters that we know the least about. The introductory story and corresponding opening fiction for each of the chapters is fairly good. I like how each of the books in the Promethean line focuses on a different signature character. After the ... Read more »

"At the moment of our birth - if that's the word - we make a choice. Life of Death. Division or Unity. Madness or Sanity. Flux or Azoth. Do we really make that choice? Does something in a creator's makeup determine whether we sunder our flesh and slither away, or rise up to begin a new Pilgrimage? I don't know. But I do plan to find out, with your help. Good Book says the world's caught in a long, dark night, waiting for a brand new dawn to come and sweep all that darkness away. Don't know if that'll ever happen, but I do know this: there's folks set on making things darker. They're looking for ways to break the laws the Good Lord set for all of nature's ways. I've seen it happen, and the night's getting darker and longer. Sometimes I think I mightn't ever see the sun come up. - John Ash, Tammuz This book includes: * The World of Darkness ... Read more »

"I've watched you ever since the day I was made. Watched you love, watched you laugh, watched you kill and die. You're perfect, even though you don't know it. Perfectly wonderful. Perfectly awful. Perfectly human. I've been watching, trying to figure you out. Trying to figure out how to be you. I know more about you than you do. I know more about you than I do about myself." —The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter, Galateid It’s A Cold World The Pilgrimage is a long and lonely road, but every ... Read more »
